Rainy season in Bali: your day still happens
Every outdoor stop of our trips has a dry alternative nearby. If it pours, your driver-guide switches, at no extra cost, and the day goes on.
-
Wet season
About November to March
The most rain falls from December to February.
-
Dry season
About April to October
Rain is rarer, but a shower can still come.
Approximate: every year is a little different.
How the wet season usually feels
Rain often comes as heavy showers with dry, sunny spells between them, rather than all day. Some days it does rain for hours, and the mountains get more rain than the coasts.
What changes on a rainy day
- Waterfalls: paths get slippery and the water turns brown; after heavy rain some falls close for safety.
- Rice terraces, viewpoints and beaches: still there, but the view can be hidden in cloud.
- Temples, museums, markets, coffee plantations and hot springs: fine in the rain.
- Activities such as rafting or the Kecak show: the operator decides; if they cancel for weather, you get that money back.
